AV Drive
Updated 8-12-2016. Bought a second one of these and installed it in an external enclosure connected to my Directv HR54 Genie DVR. Works without any problems in record and playback. Should provide 800 hours of HD recording according to Directv.
I have three purple drives in three DVR's
This is my third WD Purple drive, one in each of my DVR's. The first two are working great, this one is just starting out. I expect it to work as well as the others.
So glad I invested on this hard drive. I have four 4K Swann Cameras. 2 are in 24/7 recording and 2 in motion detection only. I still have over 4,000 Gigabytes available. You can hardly hear this hard drive running and I mean literally putting my ear on the NVR box. That's how quiet it is.
Great DVR HDD
It has turned me into a digital video pack rat. I just have to be ready to start all over if the drive dies. I can mostly accept that. A DVR with 5 tuners can get most any TV series in syndication complete in just a few months. There's always something to watch.
Good Drive for DVRs
I'm using this as an external drive for my DIRECTV DVR. Its been recording 24/7 for four months now without issue.
