All told this is a good system. The system works great. The backlit keyboard is wonderful. The problem is, if you want to listen to music or any audio for that matter, the system fails. The sound volume is so low, even if you turn the volume up to maximum, you can't hear anything.
While this product does lack some processing power to truly get the most out of games and it’s battery life is ABYSMAL, it makes up for it by excelling in standard use as a dual-purpose machine. Will run Fortnite with pretty good settings, I have mine limited to 90FPS to keep it smooth.
Overall the HP Victus (512gb SSD 8gb RAM) is a great laptop, I’ve been using for almost a half year now, but the FPS is pretty unreliable, and so you might need to upgrade the RAM. I play Valorant on this Laptop, and you can’t have anything running in the background, really.
This unit is great. I don't have much to add to other reviews. But I can confirm that this model is easily upgradable to 64gig of memory. I used a gskill ripsaw kit at 1.2v. Its only seven small screws and a little bit of gentle manipulation to remove the back.
There is another review here that is expecting some sort of top tier machine. That person is ridiculous. If you're buying top tier you're spending significantly more. I couldn't find anything bad about it except for when the laptop is using a second monitor and playing a game the frame rates drop.
