This was my first high and gaming laptop. I've had desktops for gaming in the past however. First thing I thought when I first opened it was it was solid. The laptop has a heavy duty feel. The frame is stiff with strong hinges. I don't feel like I will crack the screen opening it like some laptops.
I realize that HP is marketing this as a gaming laptop but what really caught my eye was that it can be used for content creation and the specifications on this laptop are just as good (and in some cases, better) than a desktop system. The memory alone, and the ability to expand it, is fantastic.
Update 10/08/19: battery charge doesn't last very long. This Omen by HP 2019 is everything I hoped for, and more than I need, just yet. It’s truly a great laptop. It required considerable time getting rid of the unnecessary stuff they continue to load on PC’s, though.
Omen by HP 2019 15-Inch Gaming Laptop, 9th Gen Intel Core i7-9750H, NVIDIA GeForce RTX 2060 (6 GB), 32 GB RAM, 1 TB Solid-State Drive, VR/MR Ready, Windows 10 Pro are specs that I usually only expect to find on a desktop.
This laptop checked off all the boxes for me. I wanted a decent graphic card, an OLED screen, 4k resolution, hdmi port, and I wanted it to be a maximum of 15 inches. I didn't want an LCD display on my laptop. Back light bleeding drives me nuts.
