Easy to use just doesn’t work with all apps
I bought this to mirror my iphone on a monitor so I can watch movies/tv more easily than on my handset. It’s easy to use and works great except it’s good to know that not all apps support these adapters. Prime, Netflix and HBO definitely do not but YouTube is one that works with no problem.
I own 3 adapters.
This adapter is awesome. It's similar to the Apple TV but I feel better. It's a direct connect and don't have to worry about a power source.
I use an old iPhone to record youtube videos and I tried all sorts of "casting" from my iphone so I can see what I'm recording. This thing wasn't cheap, but it does the job. Using a "real" 2 amp charger, it charges the phone and puts my camera up on the tv so I can see what I'm doing. It just works.
Great little gadget
Even though I hooked up my old computer with a monitor using HDMI, I couldn't get it to work. I went to Staples where I was introduced to Lighting Connector for my iPhone. Technician demonstrated how it worked. I was skeptical since my monitor is also outdated. The connection was easy to make.
Like most Apple products, the material and production quality is first rate. It is easy to connect to an iPad or iPhone, and then to an HDMI equipped monitor or television. However, for reasons I don't understand, sometimes the display to which it is connected becomes pixelated, like when an HD TV...
