i bought this for the purpose of using it as a second router, to extend the wifi signal the other rooms of the house. I didn't feel like getting in the roof to run the cable. i ended up using it as a wifi extender and I have not had an issue. i get good range all over the house using wifi only.
TP-Link TL-WR840N is the best router in low budget. I'm using this router, best for long-distance range

I needed a good, affordable wireless router, and TP Link delivers in spades, I can connect a variety of wired and wireless devices in my home. Also all easy controllable from the Tether app. Definitely recommend.
