A product that lowers the threshold of filmmaking
A few weeks ago I bought SMOOTH 4 (white version) and I have to say I love it!! Paired my iPhone, SMOOTH 4 works very well. One feature I would like to highlight is Vertigo shot. I thought it is difficult to realize even with the gadget but it turns out amazing!! Just set the waypoints and walk very steadily then the vertigo shots will be nice and smooth. The follow focus wheel is cool and smooth as ice.
Only works with apple not Android
I was so excited to buy smooth 4, but now im thinking return it if they do not upgrade their Android app. All the features this smooth 4 has only works with apple, not with android. I'm very disappointed!... do not buy this item if you are Android user. If you are Apple user than 70% of the smooth 4 features are working.
Zhiyun smooth 4
This Gimbal is excellent compared to the LanParte hhg-01 which i used to have. With that being said i sold that one for the new zhiyun smooth 4 and all its new app features that at the moment are not fully functional for Android users (note 8)so all the good press you see comes from iPhone user's now hopefully the app will be revamped and my mote 8 will be able to do smooth vertigo shots this is a nice feature also you are not able to shoot in 4K on Android.
I love it
Okay so as far as gimbals for phones go this is the only one Id consider.functions incredible with filmicpro and the controls and buttons I have yet to see on another gimbal. When you power it up you pretty much dont have to touch the screen on the phone for anything else. The tripod attachment it comes with alone is worth it over any other gimbal out there.
Still on the fence
Been almost 2 weeks using the smooth 4. There are some things I do not like and one is a lack of a joy stick. Another is some of the features are not operational yet. I will do a follow up after the firmwares. The footage Looks smooth. Im using a iPhone 6plus and it balances no problem .
