I did a lot of research into budget ish 15-inch laptops, considering the Eluktronics RP-15, G14, and others, but found the Omen at a solid price. I primarily use it for video editing which it is great for. The battery life has been solid, though I usually use it plugged in for the best performance. I know people are concerned about the build quality but it has not been an issue for me yet carrying it around in a backpack with other books and notebooks.
Great Laptop For Gaming On A Budget
I've had this laptop for 3 years and it has been amazing. The RAM is not soldered into the machine so you can upgrade it if needed. The only caveat is that after 2 years of use, some of the keyboard keys stopped working. The R key only works sometimes and the X key never works at all. After some research I've found other Omen owners who report the same issue. This isn't a huge problem if you have an external keyboard, but it makes using it on the go quite difficult.
The laptop performs well and its price was good, but HP is notorious for bad quality assurance. Unfortunately this laptop is no different. It runs great and plays great, but the build quality is very poor with some manufacturing defects. Mousepad is finicky and doesn't always work well. On top of that the r and x key on the keyboard randomly stopped working (this is a common issue for the Omen 15).
Very good computer and fast he just have to take it in and have all the junk that windows adds to their program removed then have it set up right it works good I do YouTube videos and it works good for that my channel is Milo new adventure this computer with premier Adobe Rush is all you need
This is an awesome laptop, but there are two things keeping me from giving it a 5-star review. One is the fact that it only comes with 8 GB of ram. This is easily upgraded though. The main issue I had with it was how aggressively (and sneakily) they try to force you to use OneDrive. I only keep ONE file on my OneDrive, but it will try to save everything on there if you don’t turn it off or uninstall it at your initial startup.
