I've written a review for this camera over on my blog but the TLDR is: The Fujifilm X-S10 offers a very affordable gateway into the Fuji ecosystem for those who want something similar to other brands (PASM dial) with all the features that make Fujifilm what they are (film simulations and excellent rage of APSC lenses).
I was able to get an almost like new X-S10 reasonably priced and have been using it for about a week. Here are some of my initial impressions. Note that I started with and keep a Pentax system, and am comparing the X-S10 to the excellent Pentax KP. I also have a Fujifilm X-T100, and while that has been fun and capable camera, some of its quirks are the reason why I was looking to move to the X-S10. As for the X-S10...
More like Nikon/Canon with mode dial being a PASM dial instead of the usual Fujifilm setup. Small camera, about the size of the X-T30, but it has a very deep grip and IBIS. Nice size and weight for that all day jaunt, but when shooting longer or heavier lenses I still prefer the X-H1.
This is my first camera other than from Canon eco system. I purchased X-S10 as my second camera in addition to my trusted Canon 5Dmk3 that I couldn't sell because it is still my fav camera for reportage photography (and World Press Photo 2021 results say the same). At first I had a plan to sell Canon and get Fuji X-T4 with Fringer adaptor to connect my Canon 24-70 f/2.8L & Canon 70-200 f/2.8L lenses, but after reading the reviews I decided to purchase Viltrox EF-FX2...
After a few days with the X-S10 I'm pleased with the purchase but its taking a lot of getting used to - after the last few years with Fuji X series many things just work differently - some better some worse and others just different. The general ergonomics work well for me with a couple of exceptions that I wasn't expecting - I like the deep grip but its not a major improvement on the X-T30 with the Metro Case grip.
