Beautiful graphics but not much fun
I have been plaing doom since the beginning and have always enjoyed the franchise but... This game is harder than it should be on the easy settings. I always play every game on the easiest and progress to the hardest but the tougher enemies show up early in the game, they are fast, resurrect out of nowhere and more powerful than they should be on the easier setting. The weapons are slow, clunky, and complicated.
Good Game... but VERY different from Doom 2016
I loved Doom 2016. I was hoping for more of the same (and even better) with Doom Eternal but this game changes up the formula and offers a very different style of gameplay than what was in Doom 2016. I personally don't care for it as much. For example, Doom 2016 had combat encounters that felt more themed or scenario-based. As in, fight five of this particular enemy, or fight from this particular piece of terrain.
Decent doom minor flaws but good.
Revised review. After initially getting frustrated with the odd platforming. You get the hang of it and it’s not so bad. I like how you can use the Handel bars to get around during fights ect.... I definitely liked this more than doom 2016. Lots of cool equipment to use.New added demons look BA and are fun to fight. I will say some levels I didn’t like the atmosphere, didn’t feel like doom, more like halo rather than a hellish vibe.
Game is TOOOOOOO HARRRRRRRD!
This game is clearly for professional players or very very good and committed players. There are monkey-bars which require extreme controller dexterity (until you can get some upgrades). One enemy, the Marauder, is impossible, even on easy mode. If you want to beat one, look into extra-life farming.
Doom Raider, A Platform Based RPG
Just like the title says, this game is not what I was expecting at all. The combination of complicated maps and jumping puzzles takes away from what could have been one of the best FPS games of 2020. The difficulty is also a major issue. If it was something that could be overcome with experience or a little practice that would be one thing but the difficulty is artificial in that the enemies are sponges and the ammo system just plain doesn't work.
