Good value. Gets the job done.
Pros:
- Good contrast & black level.
- Freesync support makes gameplay a smoother experience.
- Indicator light is low-key and noninvasive at night.
- Very little bezel on the top and sides.
- Value-priced.
Cons:
- Only one HDMI port and no display ports.
- Buttons are on the back right side, which makes it difficult to press them without touching the screen, and you would need to have the monitor on the right side in a multi monitor setup.
Bought this as an external monitor for a MacBook Pro. The monitor worked fine -- actually, very good screen quality -- but the webcam functionality was unusable. Brightness increased and decreased repeatedly, as if someone was playing with a dimmer light switch in the background. Audio quality on the speakers was average at best.
Needed a monitor with webcam built in that wouldn’t break the bank so tried this. It’s convenient. The image projected is really , I mean REALLY, inferior however. Grainy, fuzzy, not at all crisp or clear. We’re keeping it because everything else I find is double the price so this will have to do.
I bought this when my older 17" monitor began to die. This had the same height, but is much wider than the old style 4:3 monitors. The only tiny problem was that the auto-loading Windows drivers didn't result in a sharp image; but Asus offers drivers that maximized the monitor's features and completely solved the fuzziness. Now the image is superb!
I bought 2 of these monitors and mounted them side by side. High definition and colors are vivid. I use them for work, so I can't speak to the gaming quality. I especially like the non-glare screen. Very light weight too, for a Dual Arm Monitor (adjustable) desk mount stand.
