Upgraded from a 1700x that I've had since the Ryzen launch. I thought my biggest issue was GPU bottlenecking, but the 5800x has literally doubled scores on synthetic benchmarks, I've seen a 10-15% improvement in FPS on Warzone @1440p, and some of my actual doing-stuff workflows are visibly improved. Absurd performance if you're coming from something at least 2 years old.
Huge jump from my old apu :) great cpu so far just waiting to combo it with a gpu never seen it runnover 60c and that was one time most of the times the highest temp is about 53c 54c this is withe the auto oc at 4.95hz keep in mind no gpu in this setup with 2 360 rads at 40mm and the chipset is part of the line
Feel like I won the lottery just getting a 5000 series CPU in hand. 18% overclock with stable temps on an air cooler is even better. Had been holding out for 5900x and ultimately paid over MSRP, but that's the world we live in. A significant, but not amazing step up from 3600XT. No regrets. Good luck to those of you still waiting...
This processor is a beast. The rumors of it being hard to cool are true so bring your best cooler to the table. I was able to lock mine at 1.275V and this dramatically improved temperatures. With the EK AIO i am running just over 50C in game. (cant say enough good about the EK AIO either).
Upgraded from a Ryzen 3600. Streaming UHD with Dolby Atmos from pc to plex ( roku ultra ) just wasn't possible with the 3600. It would buffer, stop playing, just a no-go situation. Great for gaming tho (I am also an avid Black ops mp enthusiast with a 5700xt gpu). This cpu is amazing. EVERYTHING just runs smoothly.
