Great upgrade
I was tired of having to move files around to external drives, so I bought this to upgrade my internal drive. Also bought an external case, so I can still use the old drive for extra storage, but 2TB gives me plenty of room that I don't have to figure out which external drive has the file I'm looking for.
Great value drive
I've used Samsung drives successfully for many years and this drive didn’t disappoint. I have it in a Thunderbolt 3 external box and use it for my DropBox files and other storage. While I haven't done measurements, the response is not noticeably different than the internal SSD.
I bought this to expand my storage on the M1 Mac mini. I am using this with the Elecife with USB-C Hub with Hard Drive Enclosure and it works great. You will need to format it for the Mac mini first. I had to run the first aid check then initialize the drive and haven't had any issues.
This upgrade a must for all!
I have always relied on using hdd when it came to storage needs, it used to just make sense since the price was really great. Backing things in hdd was a very long and tedious process that is now a thing of the past with new ssd especially one like this samsung Qvo sata 2Tb might I say ssd. It loads windows and games much quicker than I was expecting.
Tons of capacity in a tiny package
I bought this 3 years ago, and it has over 22k power on hours, so tons of use. It was good value when I bought it, and now it's even better value. I've bought probably three of these for different builds.
Being SATA it's definitely not that fast compared to the even the cheapest NVME drives but taking that into consideration it's still plenty fast both sequential and random data. I use mine for media editing, and storing some larger games.
